NOLA Adelaide launches 23 Club. An exclusive whiskey club.
It’s been a long time in the making but NOLA Adelaide is finally rolling out their first-ever exclusive whisk(e)y Club, 23 Club. Why 23? Well, it’s a riff on the 23 nips each bottle of liquid gold is comprised of.
A whiskey club made for all Adelaide-based Whiskey aficionados, enticing them to come out of the shadows and enjoy some of the rarest nips known to man. 23 of the first-in-best-dressed members will gain exclusive access to a nip a month of some of the world’s rarest whisk(e)y along with other perks, of course.
Waiting in anticipation, NOLA’s Venue Manager Jaime has been cellaring a selection of rare bottles, collecting some of the best from the most exciting producers from around the world.

The line up of the first three months of rare drops on tasting include; Sullivans Cove Rare Winter Feast 2021 Limited Release Dark MoFo bottle #19 of 110, Pittyvaich 30-Year-Old 1989 Special Release 2020 Ghost Distillery and Lark Mizunara Rare Cask Release
The first bottle in the series of exclusive tasting, Sullivans Cove Winter Feast 2021 is of an extremely limited run of 110 bottles that are made for Tasmania’s Dark Mofo festival. Some of Sullivan’s Cove’s best and strangest casks, mingled with the magic of midwinter in Tasmania, this 2021 expression is at 52.3% ABV, the second highest ABV of all the Winter Feast bottlings so far. The rarest of the rare – a wolf in whisk(e)y’s clothing.
The second bottle in line is Pittyvaich 30 Year Old - the last remaining stock of its kind is the first ever to be finished in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. A ‘ghost’ distillery that worked for only 18 years before falling victim to industry consolidation in 1993, the buildings of Pittyvaich have long since vanished. Its dwindling stock is as rarely sighted today as the shy capercaillie, a bird occasionally spotted in Scottish pine forests. This finely crafted finishing has brought an exotic, rich vanilla sweetness to the light, creamy, fruity aromas and flavours of a less well known Speyside gem, until now familiar only to a knowledgeable few. A very rare long-aged release of only 7,056 bottles from a closed distillery.
In the third month of 23 Club the 4th release of Lark’s Rare Cask Series will be on tasting. This single malt is inspired by the elegance of Japanese whisk(e)y, crafted using Mizunara oak, one of the rarest and most expensive oaks in the world. Lark’s Head Distiller carefully selected second fill bourbon casks from their Bothwell Distillery, ensuring a precise and mature spirit which subtly interacts with the oak, so that the rare Mizunara Oak shines through, from cask to glass. Mizunara Oak is one of the rarest and most expensive oaks in the world and can take up to 200 years for this rare tree to suitably mature to be ready for the perfect whisk(e)y cask because both trunk and branches twist and turn.
NOLA really isn’t here to mess around with a collection starting off at this calibre, so it really is first in best on this one!
